The Shadow Program

Experience being a student for a day at ArtsWest!

At ArtsWest, we believe in the personal artistic and academic vision of every student, and we strive to maintain a unique culture and environment where each student’s aspirations are wholly supported.

As a first step in enrollment, we encourage each prospective student to experience a day in the life and culture of ArtsWest. The "shadow day" provides an excellent opportunity for incoming students to make connections with ArtsWest students and faculty. All are able to share their experiences and vision for the educational future they desire. Equally important, should the prospective student choose to attend ArtsWest, they have already established peer friendships and rapport with teachers that will benefit them greatly in coming years at the school. This shadow experience is invaluable in the process of a student making their own decision that ArtsWest is the school for them.

A shadow day can be arranged by the student meeting with the Enrollment Director to discuss their artistic and academic interests. They are then paired with one or two mentoring students at ArtsWest whose class schedule best reflects those interests. The shadow day can be a partial or whole day, and, if desired, the student may return for an additional day in order to fully experience all that ArtsWest has to offer.
