Merri Carr

Vocal and Piano

Merri Carr has been performing as a vocalist and pianist for over 20 years. She made her Opera Idaho mainstage debut in 1999 as Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Subsequent roles followed, including Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Lucy in The Telephone for Opera Idaho’s Education Outreach Program, reaching thousands of children in and around the Treasure Valley area. Mrs. Carr has also been active in many other civic venues and has sung with the Boise Master Chorale since 1991, most recently as a featured soloist in 2009’s performance of Mendelssohn’s Magnificat. She has also performed as a vocalist, doing crossover with a local jazz trio. Merri appeared as a featured soloist at numerous fundraisers in the Boise area for such organizations as Idaho Dance Theatre, Opera Idaho and The Idaho Botanical Garden. She has sung the national anthem for Vice President Dick Cheney. Merri is currently the music director and pianist for a local church. She teaches piano and beginner vocal performance class for ArtsWest School and also brings 15 years of banking experience to her position of Account Manager at ArtsWest.
